Kelcy Warren, Chairman And CEO Energy Transfer

Kelcy Warren is Chairman of Board and Chief Executive Officer of Energy Transfer Partners. Energy Transfer is one of America’s largest, diversified energy companies with operations in natural gas liquids (NGL), natural gas, petrochemicals and refining, nitrogen products, pipe and tube manufacturing and distribution. It operates more than 180 thousand miles of pipeline that primarily serves the Western Hemisphere’s deepwater markets. The Company also has a wide variety of midstream infrastructure projects in operation or under development domestically and internationally.

Kelcy Warren has been a minority owner and the sole shareholder of Energy Transfer for approximately 20 years. He has served as Chairman of Energy Transfer since October 1994 and was appointed Chairman and Chief Executive Officer in January 2006.

Warren’s career in the natural gas industry began in 1976 with Union Oil Company of California, where he held a number of positions including Senior Vice President (later President), 1990-91; Chief Operating Officer and Acting President, 1992-93; Executive Vice President, 1993-94; United Natural Gas (UNG), 1993-96; Vice President and Director, 1996-99; Chief Executive Officer and Director of UNG, 1999 to present. He joined Devon Energy Corporation in 2000 as Chief Operating Officer.

Kelcy Warren serves as a director of Devon Energy Corporation and is Chairman of the Independent Directors’ Committee. He also serves on the Advisory Committee to the Department of Petroleum Engineering at Texas A&M University, and is Chair of the Selection Committee for both the A&M Petroleum Engineering Alumni Award and the Institute for Geosciences Dean’s Award.

Warren holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University (1971) and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Carnegie Mellon University (1976). He was awarded an honorary Doctorate in Humane Letters by Oklahoma City University in 1997. In 2009, Warren married Margaret A. “Maggie” Holinger.
