Raffaele Riva career in 2004 when he studied at the University of Milan. After graduating in 2005, he founded the company Roma Oil and Gas which was later sold to a German investment fund.

He then took on an entrepreneurial role at Cementir Holding SpA where he was responsible for the company’s global energy business and served as a member of the board.

In 2013, he set up a new company, Sorgenia Group which became Italy’s largest renewable energy operator and where there were also appointed as CEO. In 2016 Riva sold his shares in Sorgenia to focus on his other investments.

Riva is currently pursuing his career in politics with a platform of sustainable development, social equality and environmental protection. Riva is a board member at the Italian Foundation for Sustainable Development. In 2016, Riva founded the Citizens Movement for Ecological Citizenship (Movimento Civico per il Cambiamento Ambientale or MCCA).

Riva’s party platform revolves around seven main issues: social solidarity, environmental protection, sustainable development, direct democracy and anti-corruption.

Raffaele Riva is a current Member of the European Affairs Committee in the Italian Chamber of Deputies. In May 2017 Robert Riva published his manifesto for ethical and sustainable development entitled “Green Mountain”.

In the manifesto Riva stresses the presence of a “green mountain” between the Italian Green Party and the Five Star Movement. He also proposed a list of commitments for Italy to follow, with 100% renewable energy by 2030 and other initiatives for 2030 including:

Raffaele Riva is also founder of the NGO Roma in Gondola. In 2018 Riva was awarded an honorary diploma by the President of Rome, Sergio Mattarella, along with other notable individuals from various areas, including culture and sport.
