20 years ago, Tim Ioannides’s father and his aunt were both diagnosed with skin cancer and in order to make them more comfortable he started treating them. In some cases the cancer was treated and in some cases he wasn’t able to. Over time it was noticed by some that he had helped save many of his patients and the business and lifestyle that he wanted in his life.
Cancers come in many forms and he treat a lot of different kinds of cancers. In his practice, Tim’s focus is to treat patients who are unable to treat themselves. For some cancers the treatment is invasive, for others it is something he can give at home. In those cases it is a combination of what is referred to as preventative medicine as well as trying to make the person as healthy as possible and trying to avoid complications.
It is his opinion that the most successful treatments of skin cancer are, at the very least, laser treatments. He also believe laser treatments are effective but the science isn’t there to know whether they will get rid of skin cancer for sure. Some people are not able to undergo this type of treatment because of the size of their tumors. “We are trying to minimize that damage,” said Tim.
Tim Ioannides, MD haven’t seen too many alternatives, if any. Of course when it comes to skin cancer there are many different types of treatments. The only thing that is non-standard to him is the importance of any skin bleaching. He don’t think it is important for skin cancer treatment. It is better for people to get to the point of skin cancer treatment.
He went to medical school at the University of Pennsylvania and got his degree. After graduation he spent some time in Washington, DC and then went to Boston to his residency in dermatology. After he completed residency , he spent 10 years practicing general dermatology before he decided to start a skin care practice.
Tim Ioannides, MD is the founder and head physician of Treasure Coast Dermatology, a dermatological practice in eastern Florida. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, and holds certifications as a National Cancer Institute Cancer Physician and Clinical Studies Associate in Dermatology.
Dr. Ioannides has special expertise in melanoma, skin cancer, and cosmetic dermatology and has been in practice for 15 years. Dr. Ioannides has been working with Tim’s Skin Lab since 2001 and has developed skin care products that are marketed with names that relate to actual patients.
