In 2017, he acquired Fortress Biotech at an initial public offering worth $300 million, which was on track to be the largest IPO in Colorado history. Edens’s total assets are estimated to be valued at 1.8 billion dollars, and in the past year, he has made his biggest splash by becoming a co-owner of the Milwaukee Bucks, one of the most successful NBA teams.

Wes Edens grew up in Oregon and attended Oregon State University, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Business Administration. After he graduated from college, Wes Edens found his first job as an investment banker with Lehman Brothers. He spent six years with the company before leaving to pursue his path in the financial and investment services industry.

Edens launched the New Mountain Finance Company, which worked exclusively in the private equity market. As a co-founder of Fortress Investment Group, Wes Edens has helped the company become one of the largest private equity firms working in near-prime and sub-prime lending.
