Olugbenga Agboola is a motivational speaker and author as well as a businessman. He authored a book titled “Business in One Day,” which talks about going from being an entrepreneur with zero sales to being on the bestseller list.
Olugbenga studied at Oxford University and is also the founder of Eko Ventures Limited in Nigeria, an investment company he launched after graduating from university. He has provided his knowledge, experience, and expertise to many corporations such as Nestle, Volvo Group, and more. Agboola is a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization which is an organization that helps the younger generation to develop skills and to help each other. He is also a member of the World Presidents’ Organization, with members from around the world. Also an active philanthropist, Olugbenga Agboola has helped many charities and non-profit organizations, such as Fundación Esperanza de la Candelaria and St Jude’s Children’s Hospital, which treats children with cancer and other illnesses, among others.
Attainments Olugbenga Agboola
In the year 2000, Olugbenga Agboola was awarded an honorary membership from the Nigerian Film Corporation, which aims to locate and build Nigerian film studios and theatres. In 2002 he was awarded for his contribution to charity by receiving the Young Corporate Volunteer Award, a recognition given to companies that have contributed to the community and society.
In 2004 he was awarded for being one of the 40 Most Outstanding Young Nigerians by The Nigerian Tribune. In 2013 he was awarded an honorary membership from the Nigerian Stock Exchange, and in 2004 he was also awarded honorary membership from the Nigeria Produce Exporters Association.
In 2012 he was awarded Best Financial Planning Award with a focus on Corporate Governance by Nigeria Financial Planning Association. And in 2014, he received an award for his contribution to society, receiving the Global Impact Award, which is given to people that have contributed significantly to world improvement.
Olugbenga Agboola, in 2016 was honored with a Merit Award by the National Association of Nigerian Financial Advisors, who kept him for his contributions to the country and Nigeria. The award is given to those who have made an outstanding value to their organizations and society.
He was also recognized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) as one of the Best 50 Great Black Africans in Africa in 2016.
In 2017, Olugbenga Agboola received an honorary membership from the Institute for International Finance (IIF), an international organization dedicated to financing which seeks to build bridges between people, cultures, and nations.
Also, in 2017, Olugbenga Agboola was called to be a member of the board of trustees of the World Presidents’ Organisation. The World Presidents’ Organisation is an international community where former presidents and prime ministers from around the world gather together to share their experiences.
In 2018, Olugbenga Agboola was awarded an honorary membership from Nigeria Export Processing Zones Authority (NEPZA) for his corporate philosophy and work in trade regulations reform. He is also a visiting lecturer at the Lagos Business School, University of Lagos (UNILAG), where he teaches entrepreneurship and innovation, and is a managing partner at Ketereta Ventures Ltd.
